Franchise India Education section published the quote from Dr. Soumya Sreehari, Co-Founder & Specialist, NumberNagar, on After School Programmes.
Dr. Soumya Sreehari, Co-Founder & Specialist, NumberNagar shares, “The one thing that students lack even in a great school setting is, ‘consistent individual attention’. This is where after-school programmes can bring significant value to a child’s learning experience. When individual attention is combined with a robust learner-centric teaching methodology, after-school programmes can make a huge difference. Programmes that focus on learner-centricity and consistent quality of delivery have a good future to sustain a business.”

Bengaluru firm to bring creative learning spaces to UK
BrainSTARS India, a Bengaluru-based start-up, focussing on maths, science and English education for six- to 14-year-olds, plans to take its innovative products that have been used in schools in India, to foreign shores, specifically the UK, Saudi Arabia and other countries in West Asia and East Africa.
Speaking in London, during a visit to identify pilot schools in the UK, in late November, one of the three founders, Ravi Shankar, is particularly optimistic about the appeal of the firm’s first major distinctive product, NumberNagar. It is a maths lab without tables, chairs or computers, but which uses everyday objects on the floor, ceilings and walls to help children connect maths to the world around them.

Brexit as an opportunity
For over a year now, ever since it began eyeing international expansion, Bengaluru-based education start-up BRAINSTARS India has been considering the U.K. The company, which develops maths, science and English products for six- to 14-year-olds, had thought Britain attractive for a number of reasons: a well-established and predictable school education system, and a strong university tradition of research and development.
The June 23 referendum result — in which Britain voted to leave the European Union — has done little to dent the enthusiasm of co-founder and CEO Ravi Shankar, who is headed to London on a reconnaissance trip next week.
